Algae on plants

I Have some Anubias in my tank that I have had for about six weeks. They seem to be doing well as they have grown a few new leaves in that time. The only problem is that they are covered in algal growth. Outside light is not an issue. I am running the lights about 12 hours a day. Is it too much light or is it something else I am doing wrong? :?

It sounds like you may have an over supply of nutrients. I don't know much about planted tanks but what I've read seems to suggest this.
