Hi everyone,

i'm looking to buy a high volume pump to run about 15 sponge filters in my garage and would like to know the pros and cons of electromagnetic piston pumps vs high volume air pumps.

I would like people to let me know their experiences in regards to:

Noise
Reliability
Longevity
energy consumption
etc

I'm thinking about 60L/m should be enough for about 15 sponge filters....what do you think???

appreciate the help

Matt

piston pumps noisy and use alot of power (watts/L/H) try and get a good diaphram pump, the 80L/H unit in my room runs 26 sponges and 8 airstones, from memory its a 60w unit.

aquaone make a nice series of pumps under the pond one brand these things have massive diaprams and dont make too much noise, parts are also easy to come by but budget atleast $200 for a 6000l/h unit
