I think a little more information about yourself, your supplier, from where these fish will be sourced, the avenue of importation and where they will be quarantined will be beneficial for all.

Thanks

Hi Hassles,

They will be imported through my business partner at Discusworld in Qld (SPONSOR) as I am expanding our freshwater imports. The fish are a mix of German bred and Wild stock from our supplier but that I will keep to myself...

Arent you an affiliate of Bayfish Hassles? If so you should understand. ;)

Apistogramma originate from South America but these are often bred elsewhere and offered to the trade. Some of these other sources provide healthy fish with suspect gentics. You are entitled to your opinion but in this instance I am not interested.

thanks for the response. NO. am not associated with Bayfish in any way. Bayfish are the supplier to my LFS and to this point my only avanue of sourcing Apistos. Bayfiosh source from Glaser ( and reliable source of good apistos0 a d its from Germany that I wish to source my apistogramma as I KNOW they will be fine.

I shall get you phone nyumber from your web site and contact you directly as there are a number of fish I an interested in

thanks

Im with Hassles on this one...I try not to touch fish bred in asian fish farms.. USUALLY very poor quality and they seem to have problems with TB...so its just good sensible practice to find out where the fish are coming from

I am getting less finicky about the whole german or asian thing - I am now just give me some fish as it is so hard to come by good stock full stop.

I also think that you look at the list and you know where they are from. The way the fish are described are different.

The problem I do have but is that the ID of apistos that are brought in can be very questionable. Hence I do want to see the actual fish that I am buying first. (Hence I missed out on the last lot of incas as someone bought them out of quarantine)

Nam, I would suggest bring in a few pairs of the ones that will sell best - and get photos in Australia. You may have better luck selling more fish that way.

You will also make more $ - as for me to put a deposit and order a fish of a list that may not be the right ID and may not even make it the price would have to be very cheap.

Thanks for all your feedback guys.. look I will be bringing in some stock regardless and we will list them onsite. Of course getting good quality photos may not be the easiest given many of our QT tanks are quite old but we will endeavour to do so.

As I said these are a mixture of wilds and tank bred fish from a breeder from wild caught stock.

They are not farm/line bred from a fish farm.

I will post some pics when I get the chance.

Hassles, What did you think of the pics?

Cheers

Hi Nam

Any chance of some Dicrossus maculatus or filamentosus ?

Possibly interested (love aggies) but would need to keep strains seperate.

Will PM you on cost shipping and timing. :) Always tricky around christmas

Thanks for the outstanding response everyone...I am thinking of pushing this order back until early in the new year. I will register all interest on species with the supplier and ensure plenty of stock to be available.

We are setting up seperate facility for the apisto to QT in pairs and trying to tie up some other species such as the mouthbrooding betta, corys, rare tetras and hopefully some more Altums in the same shipment.

Will keep everyone posted!

Sorry for the delay guys, I had trouble converting the pics so they arent as sharp as the originals however this will give you an idea of the quality of the fish....

I cant give you any idea on pricing or stock availability at this stage all dependant on what is available when we order and prices subject to our expenses to secure these beautiful fish.

Bring on 2010 and our apisto order!

Cant wait!!!

I am not sure whether A. abacaxis or A. sp. abacaxis, That is a fish that would get out me credit card but.....
