I use 2 teaspoons per 40litres should assist the fish within 4 hours, if not you can redose if still no improvement after 24 hours suspect bacterial infection.

Epsom salt will not harm the filter or other fish. You can dose in higher amounts of even 1-2 tablespoons per 40litres but I have found the above dosage work just fine.

If its a bacterial infection what should i do to fix. Do i change the water after 4 hrs to get rid of the epson salt or leave it in for 24hrs

bacterial infection will require treatment with antibiotics, you can leave the epson salts in or just dilute it with a water change.
