Hi
Does anyone know where you can take an eheim filter for repairs. It' not under warranty. I bought if off ebay a few years back & it has always run just fine. Just recently, it has decided to leak.

Lots of things you can try before you take it for repairs.
It's most likely the sealing ring in the lid. Turn the filter off and drain. Remove all the filter media to a clean bucket with an airstone running to keep your bio colony going. Remove the sealing ring, and thoroughly wipe it with damp paper towel and a little salt, then around the lip where the ring sits. Rinse and dry.
Next check the hose attachments. Remove the hoses, wipe clean again with paper towel and salt, place the ends of the hoses in a jug of boiling water, and re-attach.
Refill the filter with water - no media at this stage - carefully wipe the outside dry , and dust with a little talcum powder, especially around the seals, an turn it on with the hoses in a bucket.
Hopefully it won't be leaking, but if there is still a slight leak, it will show up in the talcum powder, and you'll know what part of the filter still needs attention.

Thanks Merrilyn
If it starts leaking again, I'll give your suggestions a try.
