I have a Cardinal Tetra that has some white stuff coming out of it.... not sure if it's parasites or worms or fungus or what????

I have started a salt treatment to see if that helps.

I noticed 2 other cardinals with the same symptoms about a month ago but they where a bit worse off so i culled them. I plan on doing the same with this one

Any experts out there able to diagnose and propose a treatment? i am concerned that the other tank inhabitants might catch it and i have some of my best fish in that tank

Your help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Matt

Matt,

It could be a secondary infection running alongside a more sinister disease. Take a read of this link below,

I'm with steve, it looks like neon tetra disease, but cardinals' arn't suppose to get it, failing that its a bacterial infection, all my tetras get this a they get old, it leads to deformities of the spine and eventually gets to the mouth which makes it hard for the fish to eat, I've tried myaxin with no sucess, mela/pimafix combo also did nothing, your could try triple sulphur.

generally this diseas only effects old and run down fish, your angels should be fine.
