Hi,
2 Issues with the plants in my tank:

- I have a form of moss like growth on the leaves of my plants.
Any tips on what it may be and how to cure the situation

- Leaves have been diying of. I pressume i have issues with the nutrients or similar? How should I be monitoring and what can I add to correct?

I have placed all my plants in my Hospital tank where they are growing much better. The mossy substance is still prevelant on the old growth thoe.

Your tips would be appreciated

mossy stuff is proably black beard algae (BBA) a double dose of florish excell will kill it as will a dip in hydrogen peroxide bout 30ml (6% h202) in a 10L bucket of water for 20 min.

Hydrogen poroxide, same as used on Hair and to clean cuts?

Any tips on getting rid of the rust like Algea?
I have a uv light in my canister filter - even after running it for a week solid it had no impact on the dreaded rusty algea

Can you post some pics of the algae your talking about?

hydrogen peroxide is the same stuff used to clean cutrs bout $4 a bottle from the chemist.

A UV will only kill free floating algae (green water).

what you need to do is increase the carbon in your system, invest in a CO2 system or start adding florish excell, once the carbon levels are right the plants should be able to out grow the algae.
