Hi all..

so im in the process of setting up a breeding tank (for the first time) i have thoroughly read Merylins article on breeding basics (which was extremely informative - thank you )

Im currenly getting good bacteria on two new sponge filters by placing them in my communitity tank, then after two weeks will add both to my 2.5ft tank which i will have aged water in.

My main question is regarding transfering potential diseases such as gill flukes to the new breeding tank.

Is this likely if im getting the bacteria from my community tank?

Also i was thinking of adding two fish in my tank to help with the cycling process. Should i go this way or is it better to add a dead prawn?

should i add two consecutive treatments of gill and body fluke medication before adding the filters/fish in the breeding tank?

your feedback would be most welcome... this is my first attempt at breeding discus and wanna get it right first time round.

cheers :D
