HI all

I was wondering if you can get non return valves, like you use on air lines, that would fit on a hose that is the thickness of an eheim 16/22 hose. I want to use it on the fill hose that connects to the pump that sits permanently in my water storage tank, to prevent that little bit of back syphoning that happens when I turn off the pump once a tank is filled from a wc.

I think at some stage I have contaminated my storage tanks by this annoying back syphoning that happens each time I turn the fill pump off.

Any tips appreciated :)

head off to an agricultural or irrigation supply store and get a 15mm pvc one way check valve, with a little pvc pupe you can bung one inline with yoyur hose, if not geat a 20mm and go to bunnings and gram a 200/15mm reducer and you can use that, from memory a 20mm valve was $18 the 15mm should be a little cheeper.

Still looking at choices for the non return valve. There is one version that is made of brass with some stainless steel (cheaper version).

There is another that is Polyropeline (sorry, can't spell it LOL) & still has some stainless steel (more expensive).

Is brass harmful to our finned friends? Assume that stainless steel is not?

brass corrodes at a low ph, pvc is better
