I have a discus that constantly swims through the tank doing somersaults and twists. It looks amusing, but i am hoping that it isn't a bad sign for something?

Should I be worried? Or just go along proud to have an acrobatic discus?

Constantly ? That can't be good if it is constant.

Well not all the time.
It will do them for about 10-15 mins, then stop for an hour or so and then go back into the act.

Definately not normal. Any kind of eratic swimming is a sign of something wrong. Could be a sign of gill flukes. Is he flashing against objects in the tank. Is it like a frenzied movement or just slow lazy spins, and has he just started doing this or has it been going on a long time.

Prepare the tiolet for a farewell flush

seroiusly its not a good thing and in my experience it usually means its on the way out.

somthing isnt right in your tank, water conditions would be your first thing to look at.
