Hi All

Here are some pics of my planted tank. Plants are growing better than expected as I only set this tank up in January. Any feedback welcome.

Hi Adam,

I agree with Matt, great looking tank.

I am a bit concerned about the thermostat being at the surface of the water, the bubbles on the outside of it make it look as if it is working flat out.

Bob

I would be hiding the heater for sure. Also, remember, heat rises so having it at the very top like that in a horizontal manner is not the most efficent even though possibly the filter is pushing water across it.

You have done a great job with the foreground plants, blyxa looks like it is doing awesome.

Personally I would be planting something with a little more oomph in the background and or mid-ground. Say some swords or variety or a nice lilly or two.

Great work though.

Cheers

Hi Guys

Thanks for the comments. Matt - There are fish in there just all hiding. I have:

5 Juv Discus (2 Blue Diamond, 2 Golden Crystal, 1 Albino)
Various Tetras
2 Bristlenose Catfish

Re the heater. I was not sure where else to put it as I did not want it touching the plants. Any recommendations???

Cheers

Adam

Very nice tank. How big is it? Do you use any ferts/special lighting/co2?

Hi Barracuda

Thanks. The tank is a weird size being 48x14x18 inches.

For lighting I have 3xT5 High Output by Supreme Aqua. Light is putting around 3WPG.

CO2 is a DIY Kit with instructions from this site. Provides approx 2-3bps.

Ferts are provided by Fert Clay Balls and Aqua Master Plant food.

Regards

Adam
