hello just woundering how many Discus I can have in my tank,
I own a 5 foot 20"x20" gravel bottom a few plants school of neons 2 dwarf Rams.
I currently change 25% of the water weekly.
I wont to grow big fish.
What is the formular for the amount of fish....... :shock: :P

Ive been told 1 adult per 40 litres hope that helps a bit

I run an otto 450g 1800l/hour and a fluval 204,

100gal tank.

10gal per adult discus.

You could go up to 10. For your level of w/c's though I think you'd get best results with 7-8.

I have a 6x2x2 heavily planted tank.

I usually have about 16 discus in there. They really seem happier in a large group. I change water every two to three days. I would have to agree though that you can't give them too much fresh water! The five in my four foot tank have lots of little territorial disputes.

Your set up looks awesome,
I agree In my 3 foot grow out tank there were plenty of punch ups,
In my 5 footer they are like a new community very happy .
Although its only been 1 month in the new tank.
Ive got a pair of Red Turqs in there they spawned once in my 3 footer,
but un the 5 footer there not interested, well he is not interested,
He is not even hanging around her :!:
