Hello, in few weeks my girlfriend is celibrating her 21st birthday.
There will be a DJ for 5 hours I reckon he might be playing some lound music. Im expecting plenty of noise with a bit of floor vibration,
Im just concerned how much this will effect my fish.
The tank is not in the same room but the DJ will be set up probably directly behind it, between a brick wall.
Has anyone gone through this sort of situation?
I was playing on leaving the lights of at night, maybe put a towel across the tank? :shock

Oh heres a picture of my new tank 5foot by 2footx 2foot

Loud music will be OK.

In anohter thread a guy was saying that the vibrations from music act like a thunderstorm on the tank and this sometimes may induce spawning.

So you may find some action happening after the party!

Just make sure the DJ plays something the Discus like and you should be good to go.

The fish may get a little stressed, but if you eliminate movement (as in people) and maybe skip feeding that day (give them something to do - hunt for food) you should be right.

I have studio monitors (home theatre set-up) next to 2 of my tanks, and the fish dont care one bit...

maybe just cover the tank with a cloth so that they don't see activity and only feel vibrations.
