Hi guys its been around 4 months since my last post, if some of you remember i was the one who bought discus and didn't cycle the tank *Palms face*. But in theses last 4 months i took the advice of members and i have been reading as much as i can about discus on theses forums and through books at the library and ones that i have bought. I would like to go through a check list with you guys to see if im ready to keep these beautiful fish. just to let you know i have been keeping africans in the tank but i will be getting rid of them.
Ok this what i am going to do
*im using a 4x2x2 tank with a 1400 litters canister and 2 heaters at each end
*ive made sure the water is cycled
*removing all gravel and having only potted plants and driftwood for ease of cleaning
*have the ph, general hardness and temp should be matched with the supplier
*i plan on having 6-8 juvies
*will be feeding them brine shrimp, blood worms and beef heart mix
*doing a 20%-30% water change 3 times a week or if low on time do a big water change once a week (not recommended) using aged water
*do regular checks on the ph, gh etc
* check for flukes and any other discus illnesses
* and if i have any problems with my fish i will post it up here :)
