What plants do best?

I have only ever been able to grow Amazon Swords in my tank.
I don't really have the resources or confidence to do the whole co2 number & all that.
I do use kH generator, which I'm told helps plant growth.
Any suggestions which other types of plants might do OK with the "by & bung in" approach? And what else can I do to promote growth?

those anre about the best plants for a lower light low tech setup.
