Here are a few (not so clear - need a new camera) pics of my newest additions. They do not hold still for long though..

They eat all day long (about 6-7 times) they are not shy, transferred into their new 4ftr (and were eating 10mins later) and run laps around the tank. they think everyone who stands infront of the tank must have food

I cannot wait to see them grow to watch them develop (colour and shape)
they are 3 1/2 months old at the moment. only one will be a total "surprise" the ss.. only the smallest blue dots are showing on its body at the moment.. one has only 5 bars (does that make it a turk too?)

Anyone who wonders about a BB tank to grow out babies.. Well the video below shows just how messy they can be. these little guys can have tummies bulging and be back asking for more in 5 minutes

he did indeed.. these little guys are all out of the same batch.. can't wait for the ss to colour up.. is starting to show red on the fins and the smallest blue dots on the top of the body.. the others have begun to colour up just wonderfully..

they are living in my 3rd fish tank (a 4ftr) which is now set up in my office.. I am taking over the house    my hubby is not convinced that I will stop at 3 tanks

Are these the ones we watch grow in his breeding logs?

I wondered if you had traded in your Africans - but you still have them? Mine vacated & moved to my son's house, so that my new wild greens could have their old home. Don't worry, my son will look after them well & I still have visiting rights.

they are the first ones to pack their bags and leave home. the others are still in a holding pattern.

My Africans are still hanging on.. I am glad you had somewhere to send yours.. I would not be that lucky.

I must say with 14 discus now and once the babies grow out the big choice of run 2 discus tanks or find homes for 4-6 fish as I am also still looking for a yellow and a red of some description..(have not quite decided yet) the choice will be a tricky one as i love my africans but their tank would make an excellent discus home

luckily I still have some time to decide.. I am a bad mum

I am the bad mum, given that I gave my African's away. Yes, I'm lucky that my son is really into Africans. He has 2 tanks in the house & 9 tanks in his garage/fishroom. He added mine to his display tank, other than one tiny fry, which he added to one of his fry tanks of matching size.

I liked my Africans too, but had no option of a new display tank, so it was Africans or Wild Green Discus tank. Sorry Africans, you will be missed

It still amazes me just how much these "not so" little guys eat. they are 5 months old now and they are all getting on just fine.. Here are some 5 mth pics for the file..

Note: the little Melon - is not one of the 5 mth babies, he has moved in to see if I can get him to grow

Again, a big thank you to DIY for my little guys..
