Hello:

Greetings from the Azores Islands! I have a question: Can anyone tell me which strain (Marlboro or Turqoise) is easier to keep? The reason I ask is that I am an experienced Marine Aquarist who would like to try discus for the first time. However, the only breeder that will ship here is in Lisbon and he only breeds the above species. I thought about buying a some of both but for some strange reason  I want to keep only one strain in a bare tank (50 gallons). We've got great soft acidic water here so that will not be an issue.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

Hello,

I think that all strains of discus are about as hard as each other to keep. Wilds might be a bit harder.

Considering you have already kept marine, as long as you are willing to put enough time/money/effort/TLC into them, neither will be a problem I dont think.

P.S Have any pics of your marine tank? :)

Turq;s deffinately, reds can be aggresive. I've kept both and the reds allthough beautiful are more agressive towards tankmates. Don't know why, but the reds allways end up fighting.
