How often does everyone do water changes in their fry tanks. Do you start as soon as they are free swimming or do you wait until they get a little larger. It seems almost impossible until they are at least a week old. Hard to keep them from being sucked up. I appreciate everyones help[/u]

I do daily water changes from eggs through to adults discus, the trick is to shepard the parents and fry to one end of the tank and sihon from the opposite end, a little built up dirt over a week from the fry end of the tank wont hurt them.

Yeah, I tend to agree with ILLUSN. I don't do a water change during hatching/attaching though, maybe 3 days max, but then back to normal.

Sooner you get them back into a routine the better.

Lol, i asked a similar question a month ago. I tend to stop the water changes from when the eggs turn black (couple hours before hatching) and don't start again until the fry are attached to the parents. I also don't feed the brooders at this time to keep the water clean.
