Hi i recently brought a nice leopard snakeskin breeding pair, i added them in my community tank with my two existing discus one snakeskin thinks it's a male and a checkerboard a female.

Now about 1 month ago the leopard pair laid eggs but male leopard ate the eats.
which is fine. they need the practise.

But just last night the male leopard now is mating with the checkerboard they laided eggs on a leaf last night , but this morning the eggs were gone.

my question is this
1, would the original pair mate with each other again if i remove the other two?
2, should i now (but do want to) keep the new pair?
3, does this happen alot?
4, or do i just leave things the way they are?
5, Is my male a bad father as i saw him fertilsing the eggs, but he keeps eatting them.

Thanks guys .
