hi, im planning to buy some medication from http://vetnpetdirect.com.au/

praziquantel <-- where can i get this locally in melbourne?

ive notices like over 10 different kinds of these, gel, tabs, liquid and some can be very expensives

can someone tell me the exact product name to buy ?
currently noticed 2 of my discus pooing white stringy lumps and not eating and just hiding around the bushes.

i'm going to the local vet shop to purchase Big L Wormer for Poultry & Pigs. which the guy said was 22bux, and though i might as well get prazi as future backup

is there any other types of treatment to battle thru the next day or so?
atm its in quarantine tank
and its currently the weekend and im not sure how serious this worm can be to my discus?

is it a slow death kind of bacteria? or i should find some vet open in the next 24hrs?

im located in s.e melb if anyone can point me to the right direction of a vet thats open 7days a week
thanks

Hi keVerns,

You can get AquaMaster Fluke and Tapeworm tablets (100mg Praziquantel/tablet). From any decent aquarium shop. Also PETSTOCK have them as well. Should be about $18.00 approximately. There is 25 tablets in the container and that will treat 500 litres.

Just try a few Aquarium shops or Petstock in your area, there will be some open today.

The worms will not kill the discus overnight so don't panic.

Cheers atti

Or you can get it from one of the sponsor sites here. buy 100 tabs it is cheaper - believe me 1 bottle of 25 doesn't go far whenyou have 400 litre tank of discus
