Cl ion in hydrochloric acid

Hi,

I noticed you recommend dropping the pH of tank water with hydrochloric acid. I completely believe that this works for you but do not understand why the discus are not affected by the Cl ions in the water? Do you use prime or similar to remove the Cl?

Cl ions behave differantly to diatomic chlorine (Cl2) the Cl- released from the HCl is harmless.
