Hello - Two weeks ago this Bolivian had a wound on his pecotoral fin, it looked nasty but it healed with salt, melafix and pimafix, but now he has this white flakey look on his body. He is darker in colour as well.
Can anyone tell me what it is? There are 2 other female bolivians in the tank and 8 rainbows and 2 b/ns none are showing anything similiar.
Thanks for your help
This is the fin that had the wound

I'm not expert, but the white stuff looks like something fungal to me.

this is a tricky one.. because he has been injured it is most likely that you are dealing with a fungal issue..with the damaged fin, it has had a chance to take hold. The tricky part is that as it develops, whilst the fish is in a weakened state, you need to watch for secondary bacterial infections..

I have been caught out on this before.

hopes this helps to make him better..:)

fungus is opportunistic
what is your water quality like?

the smlal white nodules within the fin could be lymphocytosis
the area's between the scales are not , and i would agree opportunistic fungal or bacterial, or irritated skin and mucous production

water change and asses husbandry would work for all the above

20% water changes each week
nitrite = 0
ammonia = 0
nitrate = <5ppm
ph = 6.5

got him in ht at the moment with triple sulfa he is looking better
but we'll see in a couple of days
