Hi there,

does anyone know of a substrate calculator to work out what I need I plan on using ADA aqua soil if no calculator a method to work out how much I need

It's not specifically for ADA, but it is a substrate calculator. You will need to convert from pounds to kg's when you are finished.

The trouble is ADA is sold in liters....

Yes I know, I have 2 ADA tanks myself. Not knowing myself then how to work out quantities, I bought too much. Ouch - an expensive mistake.

Anyway, this thread might help you work out your quantities

Hi there,

would it work to calculate it the same way you do for aquarium volume? once you know what depth you want?

Hi there,

I found this formula for substrate

"length cm x width cm x depth (of substrate) cm / 1000 = liters.

10 x 10 x 5 = 500 cm2 / 1000 = 5l of substrate needed.
