Hi i am looking to set up a good filtration system on my discus tank.

will it be better to just buy a Eheim 2217 and run it on this tank

or

Buy a Eheim universal 1260 pump and use it as the motor for a filtration system ? Thinking to use the inline from fish tank in to a pre-filter bottle with full of wool then into eheim 1260 then out from eheim 1260 into 5 or 6 RO bottle with few different medias. Just wonder will there be any possibility of leakage from the pump in this kind of filtration system ??

many thanks

imo dont over complicate things, a 2217 possibly with a prefilter and skimmer if you so desire will be fine.

if you wanted to try somewthing like that get a sump and use the 2217 full of biomedia for the return.
