I've had my tank for approx. 3 months or so and just tonight I have seen some of my discus laying eggs under a leaf! This is pretty exciting for me as this is my first discus tank.

Now a question from a beginner. Currently as I type this I have 2 discus rubbing their bellies under a leaf and depositing eggs. I have seen that both these discus are releasing eggs under the leaf. They are both having turns rubbing their bellies.

Does this mean that they are both females? I have another discus hanging around next to them, they are not pushing him away like the others though.

I thought that discus pick one partner for life?

Can someone please shed some light on this for me.

Urr, take a real good look at the egg laying. Be certain to both discus laying a trail of eggs. Males have a more pointed organ and female have a broad organ. The diffierence is noticable upon close inspection.

The other might be a male??

Good luck!
