hi all
just a quick question regarding fomaldehyde. do people still ues it to treat discus for gill flukes or is there other safer products available.
when i first started keeping discus the person who i bought them from recomended that i use formaldehyde every 2-4 weeks. this was over 10 yrs ago. i have only just got back into discus and would like to know what other people use

Its ridiculous to treat for something like gill flukes at a precaution. Why use meds if there is no problem in the first place.

Alot of meds still use formaldahyde i believe. Its safe at the right dosage but one of those things that you really dont want to OD.

i use potasium permangenate, i find formaldehyde hags around in my sponge filters and reacts badly with meth blue.
