Eheim Ecco 2236 flow rate

Hi there.....I have been using a 2236 to run my 4ft planted tank for about a year. Lately I have found that the flow rate has significantly been reduced ~ this is still true after I clean the media; impeller, etc.

Has anyone been having the same problem? (Or am I doing something wrong?) Maybe this is something that tends to happen to Eheim Eccos.

I've got a spare 2213 which I might use to increase filtration and keep the fishes happy.

i have the same filter on my 2ft 100ltr and would never buy one ever again. imo they are the worst filter eheim has bought out.

Yes I did clean the hoses.

I cannot say that they are bad....because I understand that Eheim designed them accentuating bacterial filtration more than their other filters. If you compare the Ecco with other filters like the classics of the same flow rate, the ecco has a significantly bigger canister. ie, water stays in the canister for a longer period of time.

But then again this does not justify a rationale for the problem I have.
