I am about to set up a 6x2x2.5 tank and was wondering if anyone had used or uses the Resun EF 2800 cannister? I am going to have a Eheim 2080 on the tank but was comtemplating buying the Resun as a second filter as they are only $185-$200.

If you have one are they quiet, what is the quality like, pump output and how long are the hoses?

The other option is to buy a eheim 2217.

Thanks,
Dave.

They are very ummmm ....Chinese
A Chinese cheap filter I actually like is the CFD-2600
Sure its cheap and nasty but provided you lubricate the o ring seal its pretty decent for the $
Available from AOA ....for $199

Taksan,

What would you recommend, the Eheim 2217 which is rated at 1000l/h for $227 or the Aqua Pro CFD-2600 which is rated at 2400l/h for $199.

BTW the tank will be 810 litres, if I get the 2nd cannister how large should it be?

Reagrds,
Dave.

That tanks 810 liters ......I honestly can't recommend any cannister filters other then Eheim. The CFD-2600 is "ok" if "ok" is ok then get one but I'd be spending the extra $ ...it will save you money in the long run.
For that size tank you really need 2 of the big Eheims.
My 6x2x2's all have 1 x 2080 and 1 x 2180 and a 2217 in the middle.
If you look at the big silver tank that runs 4 x 2080's.....

The perfect set up for your tank (and if its new get it drilled so you don't have hoses everywhere) would be 1 x 2180 (which is a 2080 with a heater) 1 x 2080 and a 2217 in the middle running a 36w Pondmaster UV and any chemicals you want to run.

Eheim has a special on 2180/s/2080's that runs to the end of the month BTW ...25% off.
Call Bec at ASA and I'm sure she would do you a great price.

Taksan,

Thanks for the advice. ASA have the 2080 at $699, regarding the eheim sale do we take 25% off that price which would make it $559?
