Hi all
I have some amazon swords and pigmy swords that I have had in the tanks for 4 years. I have a full co2 and metal halide, do my own poor mans fertiliser. The plants have come to a point where growth has slowed and the plants are looking old and haggard. Is there such a thing as a lifespan for these plants. I suspect there is as everything gets old and withers.

Interested in your comments and experiences.

amazons will go on for over 10 years (my biggest plants are around that age, if they slow dig them up and renew them, trim off bad roots, remove the rhizome and use that to spawn new plants, divide up the crowns so as theres only 1 per plant and give a good rich substrate, i grow my rarest in pots and repot and renew them each year, they just keep going.
