Just wondering if anyone has had this happen before?

There's 7 out of a tank of 9 trying to lay (shimmering, cleaning the site, chasing others off, doing practice runs up the log) all on the same spot in the tank. There's no defined pairs or pecking order, and they're swapping abck and forth as fast as anything, with males chasing other males off, females chasing other females off I think. As far as I can tell, it's:
M- FOTU
M- turq
M- spotted
F- turq
F- albino turq
F- alenquer
F- brown

What the?

The alenquer's just laid eggs & the turq's eaten them! Grrr!

(Not that they'd survive in the community tank, but it could have had the courtesy to let her finish laying!)

lol... my cobalt is abit of a ladies man. He would switch between a female turq and a female red melon constantly for weeks.
When one had laid eggs and they had been eaten he would have switched partners and be prepairing a spot for his other partner.

So much for pairs! At least this way there's no aggressive pair making the others' lives miserable!
