Hi. Is there a big difference between cheap ph controllers and expensive? For example, do you think this one is any good?

I've got one at home just like that, i also got it from ebay, so far so good i re calibrate it every 2 weeks and its never out by more than 0.2 (by ph pen and test kit)

just keep an eye on it for calibration drift.

How does it take CO2 reading without KH as well? Does it assume the correct amount of buffering?

it doesnt take a co2 reading, just ph, when too high it turns co2 on when too low it turns it off.
