G;day Discus overs,

Noticed that one of my Blue Diamonds has a small black spot on it's gut area, almost bruise like. Is this something I should be worried about?

Hopefuly there is a photo below. I only have a camera phone (spend all money on Discus) so the quaility isn't great but you can make out the black spot around the fin area.

aaahhh large dark area... see how wrong my imagination can be...
skin colour is neurohormonally controlled
something has irritated the nerve that serves the skin in that region,
injection or physical trauma
growth in the gill region, like thyroid goitre

Thanks Fishgeek, is it something I should be worried about or just let things take care of them selves? The fish acts normal and is eating well.

Thanks again
Dean

in general because we dont know the underlying cause
large blackened area's of skin either improve as the trauma/irritation to nerve settles
or the cause (lump/pressure source on nerve) becoes evident as it gets larger

if he is eating and happy just watch, fingers crossed it goes in 3 weeks
