I have 2 of the above heaters, both are putting current into my tank. I have singled them out by pulling the plugs on all electrical equipment to find the source, as it has quite a tingle when you put your hand in the water. Will an earth probe fix the problem? I have read that they can cause bigger problems sometimes so I am not sure of the best course of action.

I would think that removing them be the best course of action. You'd be surprised but many people die each year from water based electrocutions, even from fish tanks. I haven't seen any personally but i've heard about a few at work.

Faulty equiptment has only one place..... the bin!!!!

I agree with matt, for the relative price of two new heaters versus harm to your fish or even worse yourself or your family definately remove and replace as soon as practical
