Hasn't happened to me before, what did you use to worm them with and at what dosage did you use?

Did you clean your filter after treatment?

If you did, did you use tap water or tank water to clean it?

I used aqua-worm[praziquantel]1 tablet per 20L as per directions,I didnt clean the filter afterwards.I have been doing 50% daily water changes the last 4 days adding prime & nitrivec with .25ppm ammonia reading down from 1ppm should I keep doing this or clean the filter and start again thanks Illusn for reply.

you'll have to keep up the changes, was your filter fully cycled before you started?

did you have any snails in the tank?
the prazi may have killed off all the snails and increased the bioload on your system causing an ammonia spike.

not sure what else caused it mate, prazi doesnt usually hurt filters.

Yes, my filter was fully cycled before I started, the tank has been running for around 9 months now. And yes, there are those rotten cone shaped snails hanging around.

Thanks, I'll keep doing what you suggested.

on the plus side your cone snail population should now be conciderably lower.
