hi all...i've got my pondmaster 36v uv hooked up to a pump dedicated just to the uv.given that algae is not a problem in my tank, even before installing the uv, would that mean that a slower flow rate, say 250 l/hr, mean that it would be even more effective against parasites, given that the water passes thru the uv at a much slower rate than the usual 500 l/hr?

the slower the flow rate, the better the sterilization, however the longer the turnaround time for your tank, sterilaztion will peak at around 20L flow/watt for most organisums.

so what you're saying is it should be running at about 700 l/hr?

i run a 36w uv on my 2228, 2217's and 1028, the flow rate of these filters is between 600-700L/hour.
