Hi All,

Just had a really dumb question, but can there be either too many or too little plants in a discus/sth american tank? (ie: swords/lotus/grasses etc). Are there any particular plant types that you should have (ie: ones which release particular nutrients into the water) or kinds that you shouldn't have too many of etc?

Got my tank half planted at the moment, hoping to finish planting it soon then i'll post some pics ;)

Thanks!

Depending on your lighting and ferts.

With my tank with CO2 and good lighting my only tip would be to not too plant too many fast growing stem plants once estabblished. They are good to start with but can be a pain to trim.

At the end of the day it is going to be what ever you like best. I love swords and lillys so that is the bulk of my tank.

Cheers
