How big and how long does it take to grow Discus fish to there Full potention??? :shock: :shock: :shock:

Chris,

Good water and lots of food should see you fish growing larger than a bread plate in teh first 12 months from what i have seen.

Good water = lots of water changes or not overstocked tank.
lots of food = Large variety of foods high in vitamins and protiens to provide healthy growth. Feed as many times a day as you can acheive. Beef heart based food, Blood worms, flake, tetra bit like food as well make a good balanced diet. I only get to feed my fish on average 3 times a day. But they would easily take 4 to 6 times no problems as they do on the weekends when i get a chance. I give blood worms in morning and night and others during the day as snacks. Will be changing to beef heart in the evening as well followed stright by a water change beef lights out.

More food = dirty water faster = more water changes. Get the picture.

Thanks for your Response Im yet to see a Discus at that size, sounds massive, something to aim for......
