by do ing that, do u have 2 seperate filters keeping the tank clear?

or do u simply jus put a sponge filter in each for a breeding tank??

thanks!

Tzwms, I think the presence of the 2nd pair in the other half is upseting the parents, they cant get to the other pair to chase them away, so they eat the young, also some young might be swimming through the divider.

Godprint, the divider still lets water through, so I'm using an eheim 2217 with a sponge guard over the intake, in addition to a 36w UV. theres also a sponge filter in each half of the tank.

Just a suggestion :

When I had my breeding tanks set up I used a piece of white Perspex as a divider. They can't see through it so it works well.

Most of the places that sell Plastic Pipes have sheets of it.

Hope this helps,

marg.

try dividing into a smaller section say 1 fo0t x2x2
because sometimes if theres to much of a big area the parents have problems attaching the fry

I tried breeding in a 6 x 18 x 18 which was separated into 4 sections of 18 x 18 x 18 and had no luck as the pairs would hassle each other through the clear glass and as such i never had any success that way.
