im thinking of switching my discus system to 2 of these canisters (Ehiem Pro 3E) right now im using sump but it seems to be more and more a problem everyday.

Ive heard nothing but good things about Ehiem filters and wanted to get input from people that have used them or have had Ehiems in the past.....

its about $370 american dollars ( the american dollar is worth crap now, thanks bush!) and just want to make sure i dont buy into something i shouldnt waste my time with.

thanks in advance!

You wont go wrong with an Eheim, my fish room runs 12 eheims (9 classics, 1 pro2228, 1 pro2 2028, 1 pro3 2080) and i havn't had a problem with any of them.

pro 3e is a bit fancy for me, personally i'd go pro 3 2080 more media capacity and less gadgets and cheeper then the pro3e's.

2080 has 12L of bio meida (dont know how much that is in lbs) but it may not be as big or as your sump. i think it would be more then capable of looking after a 120gal (480L) tank.

yes this does look good.... tons of media area!

its a huge canister, i think 2 of these would do fine on my tank...

i really dont need the 3E ... if you have to have your filter tell you when to change it and crap like that you really shouldnt be caring for discus in my opinion.

ill go buy this tomorrow! thanks illusn!

Im def getting the 2080 when i can. Read and heard great things. Also, the 2080 includes the maintenence indicator as well.
