Hi all, I have a Discus that has developed white discolouration on the gills (both sides) and has two small pits around its right eye. He is behaving normally and eating. All water tests are normal. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with him please? I have asked my local LFS who has kept and bred Discus for many years and he has not seen this before. I have attached some photos that shows what is going on.

Please Help me!

If they are like small cauliflower growths then it is lymphcytosis - this cannot be cured but can be made to lie dormant by removing a particular stressor. This is present in all fish but only bought out when stressed.

Your fish should be fine and just ensure he is doing what he should.

Thanks for the quick response.
They are not "cauliflower growths" they are just a discolouration. They are not rasied in any way and do not seam to affect his day to day activities.

Marlboro red discus can develop white or pale blue spots on the gills. It's just part of the normal colouration.

Have a look through the photo forum and you'll see what I mean.

I've had five red males and four had spots.
