I have 18 tanks 100 lts each in banks of 6 . Each bank of 6 is on a trickle system. These tanks are for Discus, but iam having trouble trying to lower the pH from7.5 down What can i use that would be cost affective.

hi all..i too am having a prob with getting ph down from 7.6.added 10 ml of hcl to my 200 litre ageing barrel, it brought it down to 6.4 which was good, but 2 days later when i went to do a water change, it ( the aged water) was back up to nearly 7.6. do you have to keep adding and playing with it to keep it low, as i like to let the water age for 3-4 days in the barrel. why would it go back up once its been brought down?

add more acid.
maybe next time take it down to 5.5, it would probably bounce back to the 6.4 you want. do a google search on alkalinity, that will answer your question.
