Lighting Times

The light for my fish tank doesn't work properly because I stuffed up the settings and now it won't turn on automatically. Since I now have to restart the settings I was wondering. How long everyone else puts there lights on? At what time/s?

My lighting for the fish tank turn on 6pm and turns off roughly 7-8 am because I have to turn it off manually.

I run mine for 12 hrs a day, my tanks use 2.5-3w/us gal (0.6-0.75 watts/ liter)

i use a cheap timer that i got from bunnings for about $10 for 2 and i have all the lights to my tanks on that they come on at bout 10.30 am go off at about 11pm .
