Hi guys,

I've had a discus in my tank for a couple of weeks, and when I bought him, he had black freckly looking things below his mouth. They're just like birth marks aren't they? Natural imperfections?

But today when i was looking at him i noticed them on his body too. I was wondering if they can be brought on by stress or if they were always there and I just didn't see them. Also he hasn't eaten since I put him in the tank... or not that i've seen. He's been in there for nearly 2 weeks :(

Thanks,
Chloe

hi chloe its ok your fish is pigeon based so it will get peppering if you have it in a planted tank or a darker tank. there realy isnt much you can do to stop it im sorry.

Not eating for 2 weeks sounds sus, especially for a young fish, peppering is normal, a lower ph and a brighter tank can help mask it, try some live brine shrimp and something like tetra colorbits
