Hi guys, I didnt know where to go with this, but I would like some help in putting together my new 3 gal nano picotope

Im bought this used from another forum, a lil more local to my area  :P

It comes with a filter, and the light....I need to locate a tiny heater!

Here is a pic of it, from the other forum....I didnt actually receive it yet. I would like to put some plants, driftwood, maybe a rock or two, and a good bit of cherry shrimp...any other thoughts or suggestions would be great! :D

So its been a lil while, but the tank was just sitting around, empty....only some eco complete and some riccia floating :D

I got some plants last night....still waiting on my driftwood to arrive, so the "scape" is def. not set, but here is a pic on how things are going in there now

It's going to be great Eric. You've made a good start.

Have a look at some of the Amano tanks to get some ideas. He does the most amazing tanks. You'll be excited with all the possibilities.

Google Amano Aquariums. You'll get lots of images.

I didnt look around for amano designs yet...I got a nano diffuser, and a new light fixture

Some of the HM and the stem blyxa went to mom's tank, so its bare looking, but I really like this new light fixture!

Plants arriving today and tomorrow! hahaha...look for more pics soon!

Love those little glass diffusers.

Are you running C02 through it?

Thanks Merrilyn :)

I really like them too! They are so tiny! I am running co2 through it. I was using the rhinox5000 temporarily while I was waiting for the nano ones to arrive, and that thing was so big in the tank...its so nice to have the nano ones...so much more room! lol!

Limnophila aromatica and Anubias barteri var. 'Petite' arrived today...luckily for me the woman is home today, so she is planting them for me!

New pics to come tomorrow! :D

Thanks again :D

Good start. I think a submersed sword would look better, but it's up to you.

What are you tank specifications like lighting, ferts etc?

There is no way that sword will stay submersed in a 3 gal E.rose is a mid sized sword will easily reach a height of 40cm at the moment I'm guessing it's about 6-7cm.

I just stuck that sword in there, cause it really wasnt doing well in my big tank, and its nice to see it turning around now.....what is the problem with it? It will get too big? What will happen if I let it grow up out of the tank some?

As for the specs....I havent tested anything in it, so I dunno where the N and P are, but I add a very small amount of macros 2x/week and a very small amount of micros on the other days, and iron with the micros

The light fixture is a 13watt 7100K finnex CF.....no timer, I just turn it on in the morning before I leave for work or whenever I wake up in the morning! hahaha....and then shut it off when the big tank goes off...around 10pm. CO2 is from my 10lb cylinder that also feeds the big tank, diffused through the nano diffuser at about 1bps on 24/7....no fish in there. Im hoping to grow some plants out and try to sell them to make some of all this money spent on fish stuff back

Many more plants coming today, so look for new pics tonight or tomorrow

Thanks ILLUSN :D

So what do you recommend I do with this sword? It was a very expensive plant back when I bought it....and I thought I lost it in the big tank...so I would like to hang on to it

Thanks again everyone :D

Just keep it mate. E.rose is a great plant it's one of my favorites but my yoyo loaches muntched my last 2 down to the ground, once it gets nice and big, stick it in a nice feature pot and stick it back in your display tank. IT WILL LOOK GREAT!!!!

Ok, thanks ILLUSN, I will keep my eye on it, and see how it grows....I def. liked the plant when I first got it....wait till you see pics of the big tank...lol! It may be a fun task to find room for that plant when its ready to move

Thanks again :D

Kinda hid the E Rose a lil bit, but I think I have some decent light on this tank, and like I said co2 runs 24/7.....i will keep my eye on it

Thanks JamezMan.....I will keep my eye on it, and figure something out if it gets too big...I would imagine with about an inch of eco complete, the roots will prolly get to be too big as well

Thanks again
