Well yesterday our german blue ram pair surprised us with a huge brood of fry, free swimming. They were still in their quarantine tank and were pretty secretive, don't even know where they spawned.

Has anyone raised these guys before?

Congrats on the spawn!
I think as they are chiclids they will look after the fry themselves and mabey you may have to buy liquid food for them good luck!

Thanks... they seem to be schooling well.. could be 200-300 young in there, its quite amazing.. I've never had such a large brood, and the female is relatively small too.

I have been feeding them green water and microworms. Hope they survive.. :)

I have a culture of them. They are very easy to do... a little smelly though! I'm sure most LFS should have a culture or two stashed away!

I picked up a culture of MW off ebay a while ago - they are listed quite often - survived shipping ok - all my fry love them...

COOL!!! thanks guys...

I lost over 300 fighting fish wrigglers as I can not find micro food for them...they seems don't like the fry starter food I bought from LFS..
