I went to a LFS to day, and having been to many fish shops, I have never seen a sucker fish that big. It is the regular sucker fish you would keep in your tank, those black ones with patterns on their bodies(sorry i dont know the species name for it), but many times larger. Mine is a small one, about 6cm long. The one I saw is at least 1.5 feet long and really huge! I was simply too shocked to know that the sucker in my tank is able to grow that big for the first time!

The normal bristlenose that a lot of us keep in our tanks will never grow anywhere near 1 foot long. What you probably saw was a Gibbiceps pleco at a guess. Check out planetcatfish and see if you can find an ID

I just did a search on Gibbiceps pleco, thats the one alright. Now I understand it does grow to that size in the wild. Huge!

They do grow that big and there're a couple more species that can get larger than that. do your homework nicely so that you know they have enough space.
