vitamins and nutrients

hi all
i'm very new to discus keeping but very eager to learn.
i was reading several posts on beef heart mix and it is very interesting.
i'm a chemist so i was just thinking if we can add complementary medicines to the beef heart mix?

I add meds to beefheart, prazi and metro for use when i'm treating fish. as for vitamins i assumed they got enough from all the good food in the mix, especially the garlic, carrots and peas.
