Hi all.

Have a pair that have been attempting to lay eggs quite a few times...however, it appears this time around they might be taking it more seriously  (female doesn't eat them, male appears to have fertalized them).

Anyhow, this is the beginning of day 2 with them guarding the eggs (fanning, breathing on them, darting at any other discus that comes near their nest)...and thus far, they have shown little to no interest in eating.

Is this common while they are waiting for the eggs to hatch (not to eat)? Or should I continue to attempt to tempt them with treats?? :P

Thanks!

clineb it is common for the parents not to eat while they are taking care of eggs and even small fry , when i have fish with eggs i dont feed them for a few days .if your fish are in good heath it wont hurt .it sounds like they are in a community tank so they will have to e very good parents to raise the babys any way. good luck with it keep us posted
hope that helps a little scott
