Discus newbie. I have been reading through the many posts about this... but decided it would be safer for my Discus to ask.

6 Discus in the tank. Others seem fine.

Had the sick one for about 4 months. For the past week or so- Long white-ish translucent feces with dark parts, eats less aggressively, spends more time hiding behind plants than it used to. From reading other threads, I don't think it has worms but I'm not sure.

Purchased from LFS-
PraziPro (liquid concentrate 1tsp per 10g= 2.5mg/l) and
Metronidazole (500 mg tablets).

So now what? How should I go about this? Which first?
Are both safe to use in the main tank?
Will they harm cardinals, gold nugget pleco, zebra loach, and shrimp?

Interested in the food soaking methods. Usually feed Hikari frozen blood worms.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's behavior is greatly improved. Haven't been able to observe feces though.

Wondering If I should still treat the tank with anything?

ideally collect some of the feaces for microscopic examination and then decide what is the appropriate treatment

white stool indicate increased mucous production in the gastrointestinal system, which doesnt neccesarily mean parasites
most fish sites will suggest that either protozoa or worms are the culprits

faecal sample would give you some better reason to treat or not treat

if you cant then medicating food with the products you have listed is relatively safe
i tend to not medicate unless i have a good reason for it
others will treat prophylatically

in my mind(often incorrect) worming of fish seems to be excessively done, healthy fish in the wild do not succumb to worm on a regular basis
i believe i read a study were wild caught fish were found to have only single figure% of gut infestation with worms
