Probably some of Ben's new pets. I knew he'd eventually run out of room at home

I honestly have no idea. Have you been feeding live foods to that tank?

Fresh water tank Illusn. And much, much smaller than sandworms. Although your're right, does look like them.

I feel ashamed to speak in such knowedgable company - but it's not going to stop me.

Great photos by the way.

I saw a thread on these things a few months back. They are a salt water thing, or there is a salt water version, but they live in fresh water too & they're bad. Really bad.

They hide in rocks & substrate & grow to horriffic sizes and pop their heads out & grab fish. Or bits of fish if they're not successful. I know this sounds like a boogeyman tale, but it was in the thread, honest.

People were removing them by grabbing them, but as long as they're small enough & the fish are big enough with enough room to get away, they can co-exist.

I'll hunt for the thread. I think it was in the Illness section too.

I am not sure what these worms are but i do know they live in the gravel, are %100 fresh water and can reproduce and grow quite quickly.

They are not a tape worm but some type of aquatic worm creature. Thats all i know! but would like to know exactly what they are....

I want to know now.

If anyone's willing to say they are brissle worms (or whatever the right name is), you'll make me very happy.

Yep yep yep, but that thread I put the link up to, that said they can also be found in freshwater.

I'm willing to call them NFI's if you are. Similar to kangaroos I guess.

Hehehe,

What samir actually meant with NFI was "No f'ing idea what they are." :)

Greggy

Yes Greggy, and "kangaroo" in the local Aboriginal dialect directly translates as "I don't know". As in, ask the local in English, which he doesn't know a word of "what are those" and point at something in the distance, get told "Kangaroo" and the name sticks.

Therefore, these are now NFI's.
